Canada Goose, Winter. Find Out Which Canada Goose Fit Is Best For Your Body

Size & Fit

“Which size should I get for my Canada Goose parka?” We often get asked what size Canada Goose is the right one. It’s a great question and it depends on a few factors. Beyond your personal preference, there’s your body size. We have made a sizing chart for your here. Those indicate measurements for your body. They don’t take into account fit. Speaking of which, Canada Goose makes its jackets with three fit types: Slim, Regular and Relaxed. Below, you’ll find a description of each style and a chart with the jackets organized by fit.

Slim Fit

Slim Fit

Regular Fit

Relaxed Fit

Slim Fit

You’ll find that these are tighter than the average fit you’re used to wearing. If you like a fit that’s very close to the body, this one’s for you. If you are debating between two sizes, you should consider the larger of the two.

Regular Fit

You’ll find that these have a pretty average fit, if slightly looser than most. You should simply get your normal size. Those who want it close to the body should be careful because ordering a size too small will mean sleeves that are too short.

Relaxed Fit

Relaxed in this case is an understatement. They are very loose. Perhaps the loosest you’ll ever wear in the corresponding size. This extra room has a function. In the coldest environments, on the coldest days, you’ll want to be able to ad some layers. The looseness allows just that; it means you can easily add a good 10-15C to your jacket. Despite the looseness, the jacket is still made for the body indicated in the sizing chart. If you are debating between two sizes, feel free to order the smaller one. If you are looking to downsize more than one size for a trimmer fit, you should think about getting another model.

  1. Hi,

I am 5’9″ and 125 lbs and am looking at the Canada Goose Victoria and Montebello parkas. Can you give me any guidance as to whether I should choose a small or a medium? I’m worried since I’m on the taller side that I should choose a medium, but do like when things are somewhat form fitting. Also do you think one is warmer than the other? Thanks for your help!

    1. Hi Brooke, both coats are 625-fill power so they’ll be the same for warmth although because the Victoria is slightly longer, you’ll have more coverage. As for size, the best I can suggest is to refer to the measurements in the sizing chart. Using your personal measurements for the waist, hips and chest you should be able to decide on one that will be a good fit for you.

  2. Hi I’m looking to purchase expedition parka size small in ladies , not sure on sizing as I’m usually 14/16. I have read that the expedition parka comes with quite a lot of room. Many thanks zena

    1. Hi Zena!

The expedition parka is in the ‘relaxed fit’ categorie so it does have a lot of extra room, with is perfect for layering during the colder days. That considered, I would advise you to check Canada Goose’s sizing chart and to take your mesurements to find witch size is ideal for you. You can find the sizing chart here:

Thank you and have a great day!

  3. Hi, I am trying to figure out whether to get a size S or M in the Expedition. I’m a male, 5’7″ 145lbs , about a 30-31 waist. Thank you

  4. Hey im wondering what size i am in a citadel and or expedition parka. Im male 6 foot 6 just shy 6 foot 7 170 pounds. I own a white snow mantra size large and its rly long half way to my knees and the sleeves meet my wrists with arms down at waist if that helps.

  5. Hi, i am 5″11-6ft and a 30 inch waist and i dont know what size to get as im looking to get the canada goose chilliwack bomber. Any help???

    1. Hello Jennifer, there are slight differences between the two coats. Both are insulated with 750 fill and are going to be the same in terms of warmth. For differences, the one main difference is that the Camp Down Hoody has an adjustable hood with toggles that can tighten the hood whereas the Brookevale does not have this. They are also made with different materials, the Camp Down Hoody is made with Basecamp 20D material whereas the Brookevale is made with Vereflex 15D. Both materials have a water repellent finish and will be windproof.

      1. I purchased the Brookvale Hoody in red but I returned it because the feather insulation in the arms was white and black. You could see the black feathers through the red exterior shell making it look dirty or stained. I could not accept that it looked poor quality for the price. Can you see the black feathers through the Camp Hoody in red? I note they are different fabric shell exterior.

  6. Hello.
I want to know which size I am going to buy
I want to buy a Canada Goose Women Kensington Parka, but I do not know if it will fit her.
    height: 181 cm
    arm length: 63 cm
    waist: 23 inches

  7. Hello. I recently purchased the Army fatigue style Parker in a size large for my 17 yr old son who is appx 5′ 8″ and 145lb. Do you think this will fit?

    1. Hello there, I’m sorry which particular parka did you purchase, is it a Canada Goose model? The best I suggest is to refer to the measurements in the sizing chart on the product page for the most accurate size.

  8. Hey, I just received a CG Chateau regular fit medium sized which almost perfectly fits. The only thing what I dont like about it, is the general length (2-3cm) + sleeves length (1-2cm) which are to long. Would you recommend to purchase a CG Fusion Fit size L instead?

  9. I want to order one of your jackets but when I go into the sizing it only tells me S M L etc fo r chest measurement. How can I see hips and waist measurement so that I make sure I get the correct fit? Thanks so much

  10. I am trying to find a size Jacket that will fit. Im very tall so I usually am an XL but I need to know if the arm length will fit me so how do I find the measurements of the Jackets? In the sizing chart it tells you what to measure on your body but how do we know the measurements of the Jacket?

    1. Hello Victoria,

It will be hard to find the measurements of the jackets, as Canada Goose does not publish them. The only Ladies’ XL I managed to get my hands on was the Expedition. The sleeves, from shoulder seam to wrist end was 65.5cm (26″). If I included the elastic cuffs, the total arm coverage, from shoulder seam to end of cuff was 72cm (28 1/2″).

This may also help you: I have long arms and I usually find Canada Goose to have slightly shorter sleeve lengths than what I want, but at the same time, the elastic cuffs provide good coverage and neatly solve that problem.

      I hope this helps,
