Canada Goose, Winter. Find Out Which Canada Goose Fit Is Best For Your Body

Size & Fit

“Which size should I get for my Canada Goose parka?” We often get asked what size Canada Goose is the right one. It’s a great question and it depends on a few factors. Beyond your personal preference, there’s your body size. Below you can find a sizing chart which indicates the measurements for your body and is sure to help the choosing process.

These measurements don’t necessarily take into account the fit of the separate parkas although Canada Goose does design their parkas within three fit types: slim, regular and relaxed. Below are short descriptions of each style with the sizing charts organized by fit so you can easily find which one is right for you.

Slim Fit

You’ll find that these are tighter than the average fit you’re used to wearing. If you like a fit that’s very close to the body, this one’s for you. If you are debating between two sizes, you should consider the larger of the two.

Regular Fit

You’ll find that these have a pretty average fit, if slightly looser than most. You should simply get your normal size. Those who want it close to the body should be careful because ordering a size too small will mean sleeves that are too short.

Relaxed Fit

Relaxed in this case is an understatement. They are very loose. Perhaps the loosest you’ll ever wear in the corresponding size. This extra room has a function. In the coldest environments, on the coldest days, you’ll want to be able to add some layers. The looseness allows just that; it means you can easily add a good 10°C – 15°C to your jacket. Despite the looseness, the jacket is still made for the body indicated in the sizing chart. If you are debating between two sizes, feel free to order the smaller one. If you are looking to downsize more than one size for a trimmer fit, you should think about getting another model.

  1. Hi. I want to get my son a Canada Goose lodge jacket or a chateau parka and can’t decide between an L or an XL. He is 5’9″ and weighs 195lbs. Waist measures 34.5″, hips 42″ and chest 41″. Please tell me what you think? Thanks

    1. Hello Elaine, both jackets are a slim fit although with your son’s measurements the Large should be fine. If he wants something a little roomier, you may want to try the XL. When in doubt, we have hassle-free returns so you can order both, keep whichever fits best and send back the other with the included shipping label found inside your package.

    1. Hi Heather, the difference between the Lorette and the Lorette Black Label model is the Black Label model will solely have a black label as opposed to the regular Canada Goose label with white, red and blue. As for the Fusion fit model, this will be slightly smaller in size. For more details please check out our Fusion Fit article which explains it all just here: http://altitude-blog.com/en/canada-goose-fusion-fit/

  2. Hello there,

I am considering ordering an Expedition Parka, and I was just wondering what the difference between the sizing of the men’s and women’s parkas. (As someone recommended that I purchase the men’s rather than the women’s in order to allow a slightly looser fit). What would the men’s small be comparable to in women’s sizing?

    Thank you!

    1. Hello Emily, thanks for your comment. If you have a look at the sizing chart for both, you will see the differences in measurements. For example, the size small, just the chest measurement alone for women is 34 – 35 inches whereas the men’s is 41 – 44 inches.

  3. Hello,
I’m interested in buying Maitland Parka, but I’m not sure what size to choose.. Medium or Large?
    I’m 178 cm tall, weight 82,5 kg and I have a athletic muscular bodytype…
Measurement around my chest is 104 cm, my waist is 87cm..
    Thanks in advance.
    Thomas

    1. Hello Thomas, looking at your measurements and referring to the size chart on the product page, a large will be best. If you’re still unsure, we offer hassle-free returns so you can order both and easily return whichever doesn’t work.

  4. Hi
After a Gillette not sure what size to get I believe they come up large. I am a 34 waist & a 42 chest why size would you recommend?

    1. Hi Piers, the size you are looking for may depend on the jacket that you are interested in. With your measurements, please refer to the sizing chart on the product page and you’ll be able to find the jacket which is a perfect match for you. If you’re undecided between two sizes, we offer hassle-free returns so you can easily return whichever doesn’t work.

  5. Hello,

I am interested in the Lorette parka but am not sure what size I should order. I am just over 5’6 and weigh 123 pounds.
My Bust is – 84 cm
    Waist -72 cm
    Hips- 93cm
    I am usually a size 4, sometimes 2
    Thanks

    1. Hi Loretta, because your waist measurement falls into the size 4 measurements, I would suggest going with the size 4 to ensure the jacket won’t be too tight and uncomfortable. If in doubt, we do offer free shipping on returns for lifetime members so if you are a member, you can order size 2 and 4 and send back the one you don’t wish to keep free of charge.
