Size & Fit

“Which size should I get for my Canada Goose parka?” We often get asked what size Canada Goose is the right one. It’s a great question and it depends on a few factors. Beyond your personal preference, there’s your body size. Below you can find a sizing chart which indicates the measurements for your body and is sure to help the choosing process.

These measurements don’t necessarily take into account the fit of the separate parkas although Canada Goose does design their parkas within three fit types: slim, regular and relaxed. Below are short descriptions of each style with the sizing charts organized by fit so you can easily find which one is right for you.

Slim Fit

You’ll find that these are tighter than the average fit you’re used to wearing. If you like a fit that’s very close to the body, this one’s for you. If you are debating between two sizes, you should consider the larger of the two.

Regular Fit

You’ll find that these have a pretty average fit, if slightly looser than most. You should simply get your normal size. Those who want it close to the body should be careful because ordering a size too small will mean sleeves that are too short.

Relaxed Fit

Relaxed in this case is an understatement. They are very loose. Perhaps the loosest you’ll ever wear in the corresponding size. This extra room has a function. In the coldest environments, on the coldest days, you’ll want to be able to add some layers. The looseness allows just that; it means you can easily add a good 10°C – 15°C to your jacket. Despite the looseness, the jacket is still made for the body indicated in the sizing chart. If you are debating between two sizes, feel free to order the smaller one. If you are looking to downsize more than one size for a trimmer fit, you should think about getting another model.

  1. hi there
im moving to Canada from Australia, really need to find a nice jacket to keep me warm. have my eyes on the Expedition Parka. the only thing is i can not find it online in red as its all sold out in women size S.
question is if I’m to get a men size XS, will that work? or the cuts are different?

    Thank you

    1. Hello there, the men’s XS is equivalent to the women’s small although the waist measurements are slightly smaller (27-28 instead of 28-29) so you could make that work.

  2. Hi I am interested in the Mystic Parka Fusion Fit. I am 5’1″ and 32-27-34. Would the S size fit me perfectly? I was thinking of XS but apparently they dont create XS for black Mystic fusion fit..so odd.

    1. Hello Joanne, I would suggest the XS as you may find the small to be a bit large as your measurements are quite in the middle of the xs sizing. It never hurts to order it to try it on although if you like a more relaxed fit, the small would be fine.

  3. Hi there,
I’m 5’2, 115-120 pounds. I’m interested in purchasing the Brittania parka in XL. I tried the L, it fits well. My only concern is when I bend my elbows, it feels snug. Will XL make a difference?

    1. Hello Diana, you may find a slight different as the sleeves on the XL will feel slightly roomier. If you are okay with a little more roomy fit, going up a size may be more comfortable for you if the snug arms are a big problem.

    1. Hi Derek, you’ll find the most accurate answer by checking out the measurements in the size chart. If you’re in between measurements on the two sizes, the larger option may be a better and more comfortable fit.

    1. Hi,

I am 5’7 with relatively longer arms. I have the Fusion Fit in S and I find that the arms are too short…

Would definitely try on before buying

  4. Pretty disappointing that they have virtually abandoned relaxed/regular fit. I have broad shoulders and football build and have tough time finding a jacket that fits that isn’t an expedition.

Why not offer fits for both body types? I mean you offer a fusion fit for short people. At the end of the day it’s still a parka. But I guess this company has made it clear that they are going for fashion over function.

  5. Hi. I am interested in the MacMillan Parka. I am about 5’8″ 130-135 pound male. My blazer and suit jackets are normally 38 (though I have one that is a 36, but it is a bit slim) and my waist is a 29. I am thinking about getting a small but I am worried it will be too tight, while I am worried a medium will be too big. What would you recommend, as I feel I am within the small measurements but because it is slim fit I am hesitant. Thanks!

    1. Hello Jason, the coat is a slim fit and tends to run a little small by the looks of the reviews although some people have noticed the bottom to be a bit loose. For the most accurate fit, I’d suggest trying on both and eliminating the one that doesn’t work. Because it runs small, I’d say go with a medium but again, the most accurate will be to try on both and see.

    2. The small would. Actually look best. But if you want to zip th coat and layer clothing with the coat then choose the medium. If. Mainly for fashion choose the small. Or. Buy both
