Size & Fit

“Which size should I get for my Canada Goose parka?” We often get asked what size Canada Goose is the right one. It’s a great question and it depends on a few factors. Beyond your personal preference, there’s your body size. Below you can find a sizing chart which indicates the measurements for your body and is sure to help the choosing process.

These measurements don’t necessarily take into account the fit of the separate parkas although Canada Goose does design their parkas within three fit types: slim, regular and relaxed. Below are short descriptions of each style with the sizing charts organized by fit so you can easily find which one is right for you.

Slim Fit

You’ll find that these are tighter than the average fit you’re used to wearing. If you like a fit that’s very close to the body, this one’s for you. If you are debating between two sizes, you should consider the larger of the two.

Regular Fit

You’ll find that these have a pretty average fit, if slightly looser than most. You should simply get your normal size. Those who want it close to the body should be careful because ordering a size too small will mean sleeves that are too short.

Relaxed Fit

Relaxed in this case is an understatement. They are very loose. Perhaps the loosest you’ll ever wear in the corresponding size. This extra room has a function. In the coldest environments, on the coldest days, you’ll want to be able to add some layers. The looseness allows just that; it means you can easily add a good 10°C – 15°C to your jacket. Despite the looseness, the jacket is still made for the body indicated in the sizing chart. If you are debating between two sizes, feel free to order the smaller one. If you are looking to downsize more than one size for a trimmer fit, you should think about getting another model.

  1. I’m 5’11”, 260lbs, broad shoulders, 42 inch waist, wear U.S. suit size 52R , interested in the Snow Mantra parka, wondering if 2XL will fit me well or would I need 3XL?

    1. Hello there, the best suggestion for deciding what size is best for you would be to refer to the size chart. 2. hi there, just purchased the chilliwack bomber in large, i’m 6ft 3, 205lbs, it feels loose around the arms an shoulders, looks abit baggy in the arms… i tried the medium an it was very tight at the waist but fitted me snug around the shoulders an arms.. how is the jacket actually ment to fit? i can still return it for a medium, thanks for your help

  3. Hi! I really really want the Chilliwack Bomber but with my stocky build from broad shoulders down, weighing in at 87kg and height of 175cm I’m not sure what size would be best, my chest is 42 if this helps!! Would I go for the medium or large

    1. Hey Gareth, you are always best referring to the measurements in the size charts. When in doubt, order both! We offer free shipping on returns for our lifetime members based in Canada.

  4. Hello, I was wondering which coat is slimmer and shorter, the Shelburne or the Kensington?. I want to buy for my daughter who is very slim. Thanks

    1. Hello Phyllis, the Kensington has a slightly longer fit compared to the Shelburne. As for which is slimmer, they are both slim fitting parkas and you could opt for a fusion fit which will be made to accommodate a slightly smaller body frame.

    1. Hello Carol, these are actually straps so that you can wear the jacket hanging off of you and avoid having to carry it. This is ideal for moments where it may be too warm, like inside a mall, and rather than carrying the jacket, you can simply use these straps and the jacket will hang off of you.

  5. Hello:

I have a question regarding sizing of the Dunham Jacket. I can wear a large (L) in the Jericho Beach Jacket, which looks very similar to the Dunham. Would you consider the two similar fits? Both are listed as “Slim” fits. I own the Woolford, also a “Slim” fit, and the XL fits me perfectly. Any suggestions you may have would be much appreciated.

    1. Hello Tim, The Dunham jacket has more of a bomber fit compared to the Jericho which has a longer, waist length fit. If you are an XL in the Woolford, the XL may be best as the fit of the Dunham will be more similar to the Woolford as it is also a bomber fit. If ever in doubt, we do offer free shipping on returns for lifetime members located in Canada.

  6. Hi I am interested in buying the womens Dore Hoody. I am 5’4 and 101 pounds. I was told that the xs would be my size however when I tried it on with a sweatshirt it felt a bit tight but the small looked a little bit baggy. I was wondering which size would be better. Thanks.

    1. hello Samantha, if the xs was too tight, maybe try the small. It’s always best to refer to the measurements for each size located in the sizing chart on the product page.
