Just got my Lowepro camera bag; it will make me take better pictures right? In short the Flipside Sport 15L AW is a 15 liter camera bag made to carry (almost) all your camera gear. Unlike most other camera bags I have owned, including other Lowepro’s and Timbuk2, to name two, this one is made specifically for active users.

The pros are:
Easy to use
The cons are:
If you find yourself hiking distances to snap a pic, or cycling/running with a heavy DSLR on you, have a look at the Flipside Sport 15L AW. Why? The shoulders straps are perforated for breathability, lightweight and comfortable, as is the entire back panel. It’s easily the most comfortable camera pack I have owned.
The pack is exploding with useful and easy to use features. Most important for me is the rain cover found at the base, because I won’t take a bag out on a cloudy day without one. The tripod holder on the side is great as it wraps around, leaving your tripod snuggly in place and out of the way. I tried a short jog up a summit with my tripod and it didn’t budge. The other side of the pack has a large pocket for a water bladder; at first I was surprised by this feature but after thinking about previous long hikes into locations like Yosemite, I really like the idea.
The zip opening, hidden against your back, opens up to a nice camera compartment which can be modified to fit almost anything, including a 300mm lens (for all you zoom enthusiasts). Because of the location of the zipper you can simply turn the pack around (make sure the hipbelt is done up), open it up, shoot and repeat. Much quicker than removing a bag. Having shot a lot on ski hills, this feature will be great in winter for me on the slopes. On, off, on, off gets old quick.
Finally what I loved the most about this pack was the ability to pull out the camera section (including padded walls) and use the pack for any old activity! Really smart move Lowepro, thank you. By letting me remove the padded ‘guts,’ I can use this pack for more than just photography. I dislike paying hundreds of dollars for something which has one use. This pack will be at the front of my closet for this very reason.
Downsides? The hipbelt is minimal so I would probably suggest a bigger like the Lowepro Photo Sport 200 AW with padded belt if you run a fair bit with your camera. It is a 15 liter pack so do not buy this if you expect to be able to put other things in the bag besides your camera gear.
Thanks to Mark for this review.
