Cold. Probably the simplest and best reason why so many people dislike winter. I have to say – I am not that big of a fan of winter myself. However, I started to enjoy it more the day I got a great, insulated, practical and comfy jacket. Being active in the colder seasons is actually pretty fun. I do not ski or snowboard, but I can now appreciate a long day or weekend of camping and traveling on snowshoes.
Here’s a selection of urban and technical jackets that will give you style, comfort and confidence to go through winter without any troubles.
Thanks to the Supreme Micro Loft Insulation and the synthetic lining – the Yupik parka is the ideal jacket for unpredictable weather. It has the great capacity of regulating heat, while being waterproof and very practical. You’ll even find a media pocket – perfect to keep your cellphone or mp3 player safe. The Yupik also has a nice urban look.
The North Face’s McMurdo II
The McMurdo II from The North Face is a highly versatile jacket, that is great for nature and the city. Its 550-fil duck down duvet insulation, integrated neck-warmer and its removable faux-fur hood will keep you warm and comfortable all winter long. Bonus: it is also 100% waterproof.
Arc’teryx’s Cerium LT Hoody
Even if the Cerium LT Hoody can be used as an intermediate layer, the jacket is warm enough to protect you from the cold while doing physical activities, or when walking around on a nice day, in the city. It is extremely light – thanks to its 850-fil down duvet – and also very breathable and water-resistant.
Canada Goose’s Chateau
A classic for men from Canada Goose. The Chateau parka is probably one of the jacket that blends performance and elegance the best. With the Arctic-Tech shell and the 625-fil duck down duvet, you can be assured to stay warm and cozy – while adopting a simple, classic and urban look.
Moose Knuckles’s Stirling
Here, the Canadian brand Moose Knuckles is offering a very classy parka. With its grey duck down insulation, its removable fur hood and its longuer cut, you’ll be protected from the elements, even on very cold days.
