We stayed at a great place called Auberge Portes du Soleil. Let me tell you why it was so awesome: first of all, the reception had a skiing decor, a delicious swiss fondue restaurant, the rooms were cozy (Torgon and Morzine) and, best of all, our breakfast was all packed and ready-to-go each morning. That means less time wasted eating, and more time spent shredding the hill! Special props to Nicolas, our swiss host, for providing us with a much needed daily caffeine rush.
The first day, we explored the mountain on our skis. I spent the next two days on my bum learning how to snowboard. It was a bit of a disaster at first (just ask Mark), but with the help of Guillaume my instructor and a lot of perseverance, the result was quite satisfying in the end. Learning a new skill can be quite exhiliarating, and I definitely recommend taking lessons, even for just an hour!
Le Massif has got to be one of my favourite mountains in Quebec, and I especially enjoyed the spectacular view on the brand new gondola. We thought it would be a sweet idea to make video reviews on board. Here’s the result!
I’d like to thank John, Lara and Mark for a kick-ass trip! I’d also like to thank my sponsors, Kim-Anh for lending me her skis, Gabriel for her helmet and goggles, my favourite sister Pat for her snowboard and Marianie for her boots! You guys are awesome!
