Biking to work is great. You avoid traffic, you get a little workout, you contribute to reducing CO2 emissions, and best of all, you get to work stress free. But some days, you just plain don't feel like riding your bike. Here are some reasons that you can use to convince yourself that it's ok NOT to take your bike. Make sure to vary and feel free to make some up of your own.
10) It gives me a light smell that I have to live with all day.
9) A lost squirrel is bound to wander off track into the bike lane.
8) I could get bike rage.
7) What if it starts raining?
6) I don't like dust.
5) Too many pot holes.
4) Too many hills.
3) It makes my coworkers that don't take their bike feel bad about themselves.
2) My bike bag could fall off inadvertently.
1) The polar ice cap is already half melted anyway.

- I got an early meeting today, I can’t show up sweaty.
- It’s too hot.
- I don’t know what I’m doing after work, I might not want my bike there.
- It could get stolen -OR- The bixi stand is always full.
- I don’t want to waste the money I spent on my bus pass -OR- the metro is only 3$.
- I just don’t wanna.
I just don’t wanna! seems like the best excuse. I’ll use that one tomorrow, thanks JY.
