AN IDYLLIC MOMENT

February 19th 2005: nestled in sheets in the warmth of the sun, I awoke on the deck of the Anaconda III, a yacht in the Whitsunday Islands, Australia. The Captain hoists the sails without a sound as my sister, Vanessa, is asleep at my side. I longed at once to live on a sailboat.
