This week I decided to treat myself and talk to you about two of our favourite jackets here at Altitude Sports. All the employees have at least one or the other, if not both. I have both. Made for men and women, these two coats are lightweight, synthetically insulated, and great for fall, spring or even winter if you’re often moving from inside to outside during the day.

Synthetic Insulation

The North Face Redpoint Optimus Jacket became an employee favourite a couple years ago, when we first discovered Primaloft, the best synthetic insulation on the market and the closest imitation of down available. Well-loved because it is very breathable, very light, dries quickly, and efficiently stores your body’s generated heat, this insulation regulates body temperature during drastic temperature changes, such as going from inside to outside. What’s more, a thinner layer of Primaloft is required to obtain the same warmth as down and it keeps you warmer even when wet or damp.

Cette semaine, j’ai décidé de me gâter et de vous parler des deux modèles de manteaux les plus populaires et les plus aimés par les employés d’Altitude; tous les employés ont au moins l’un ou l’autre, sinon les deux. Je possède moi-même ces deux modèles. Ces manteaux sont légers, isolés avec une fibre synthétique, se font pour les deux sexes et sont vraiment agréables à porter en automne, au printemps et même en hiver, quand on passe de l’intérieur à l’extérieur souvent pendant la journée.

Isolants synthétique

Le The North Face Redpoint Optimus Jacket est devenu un classique auprès des employés il y a quelques années déjà quand nous avons découvert les qualités isolantes du Primaloft. Cette fibre est l’isolant synthétique qui se rapproche le plus des caractéristiques du duvet. Elle est produite par la compagnie Primaloft, qui est encore la référence numéro un en ce qui a trait à ce type de fibre. On aime cet isolant parce qu’il emmagasine très rapidement la chaleur qu’on dégage, est très léger, sèche rapidement, est très respirant et nous tempère bien lors de changements drastiques de température (intérieur-extérieur par exemple). En plus, le PrimaLoft est généralement plus mince que le duvet pour une capacité isolante équivalente et conserve mieux la chaleur en temps humide.
