Warehouse Sales: Tips and tricks for successful bargain hunting

5. Cash Is King

Some warehouse sales offer you to pay with Interac, Visa, Mastercard, American Express and other methods. Others accept credit cards but not Interac or vice versa. They all accept cash though. So make sure you pay a visit to an ATM before heading over to the sale. It'll avoid you headaches and missed deals. Not only that, but it's a great way to help you set and stick to your budget.

4. Bags

Big bags are ever practical, especially when you want to haul your booty (in the pirate sense of course). Unfortunately, they are also seen as helping thieves and obstructions in the proper flow of people. With that in mind, there are many places which will demand you check them. First of all, that's a hassle and means you have to add waiting in line twice to your endeavour. Imagine if you had already waited in the regular line to get in, only to be rebuffed at the entrance because of your bag. That would not be a pleasant experience. Travel light instead.

3. Functional clothes

So you think you found the perfect pair of pants. In order to be sure you need to try them on. The lineup at the changing room will probably be murder, and that's if you're lucky and there are changing rooms at all. Dress strategically. Ladies, wear leggings and an easy to remove blouse with a tight-fitting, thin shirt underneath. Men, I don't know what to recommend for the pants part, short of wearing a kilt. There's always the idea of wearing non-revealing boxers. In any case, wear something that easy to remove. Speaking of which, both women and men should seriously consider wearing slip-on shoes. If you need to take them off repeatedly, you'll be happy you did so.

2. Correct Information

Call ahead to make sure the sale is still on, ask about the parking situation, confirm the hours and dates, enquire returns (many warehouse sales are final) and issues raised above (payment options, changing rooms access, bag check). Your 1 minute call can save you hours.

1. Stay Comfortable

Instead of thinking about all these points, avoid the hassle of getting caught in traffic jams, moody people and bad weather. Make the warehouse sale come to you. Go to The Last Hunt.
