Warmth, Comfort and Durability. The Mountain Hardware Thermist Coat brings all 3 of these things together to keep you toasty all winter.

This Casual and stylish Insulated Down Jacket is coupled with Thermic Aero(tm) Synthetic Down and RDS Certified Down. It has been so nice to have for the long winters in Interior B.C. Especially this year for me, seeing record snowfalls coupled with high-pressure days.

Our review of this product
8.5 / 10
The pros are:

  • Extremely Warm
  • Very Durable
  • Comfortable and Cozy
  • Multiple pockets with lots of Pocket space
  • Removable Hood
  • Well Designed
The cons are:

  • Bulkiness
  • Large Hood
  • narrow collar
  • slightly restricting

The Thermist Jacket has successfully kept me warm on some really cold days while skiing and snowboarding in the mountains as well. Seeing as it packs away a bit bulky, it makes it less ideal for backcountry travel and more ideal for Apres ski festivities.

It is definitely one of the most durable insulated down jackets or vests that I have owned and I look forward to putting in many more hours in it.

The Thermist Jacket has well placed double weaved reinforcement zones in the upper quadrants with durable material everywhere else. It has 3 pockets in total, one upper chest pocket and 2 side hand pockets. The hood is quite bulky but extremely warm, luckily the hood is easily removable with a hidden zipper and double sided velcro on the wings.

All in all, I have been very pleased with the Thermist Jacket, the only cons that I personally have with it would be the fit around my face when it is fully zipped, and the length, as it has a little bit extra down the bottom… not sure if their intention was for warmth or style?
